Open houses

We ran hundreds of open houses from a spreadsheet.

Now agents book and claim them in a minute, and Rig handles the posts, the checklist and the follow-up.

Before Rig

Booking, finding hosts, ordering signs and flyers, posting to Slack and chasing feedback was a full-time job. Every change meant fixing the sheet by hand, and open slots sat empty because nobody saw them in time.

What Coach does here

Agents ask Coach to claim an open slot, and it confirms with them before it books.

More about Coach

What Rig does

  • Agents book from your team’s home page: the address from Google, the date and time from a calendar. A series, or several shifts in one day, works too.
  • A listing agent offers an open slot, and other agents claim it from the host page, from Slack with /oh, or by asking Coach.
  • Rig catches the same agent booked twice, the same house booked twice, and a date more than six months out.
  • Staff approve each open house, or turn on auto-approve.
  • Every booked open house gets your team’s own checklist, like MLS, social and signs, with who does each step and when.
  • Flyers, directional signs, social posts and Craigslist requests go straight to ops.
  • Slack posts go out on their own: new open slots, booked open houses, a 7 AM list of open slots, a noon check-in and a 3 PM lineup. Each one has its own switch.
  • A slot nobody claims is canceled when it starts, and every host gets a feedback request afterward.

We book hundreds of open houses. Agents claim the open slots themselves now, and my ops team stopped living in a spreadsheet.

Questions about open houses.

Do agents need to sign in to book?

Agents book from your team’s home page, which works without signing in and saves to a phone’s home screen like an app.

What does Rig post to Slack?

New open slots, booked open houses, a 7 AM list of open slots, a noon check-in and a 3 PM lineup, in the channels you pick. Each post has its own switch, and in Slack, /oh books an open house or claims a slot.

Does Rig replace our MLS entry?

Rig runs your team’s side of the open house: who hosts, the checklist, the posts and the follow-up. The MLS entry stays in your MLS, and it can be a step on your checklist with a person and a day attached.
